Can you get advertising appraised? |
Can you get advertising appraised? Hi There, Contrary to popular believe, advertising can be somewhat appraised by using the advertising objective as a yardstick and the agreed timeline as limitation and finally research groups and survey for the result. The ever populat TAG method or the science of IFIR have served those whith the marketing instinct fairly well during the age of advertising. TAG is based on Take A Guess and IFIR is based on I Feel Its Right. However to see the result of not Advertising is a whole lot easier. You will see nothing happen! However do not get me wrong, advertising in the wrong media and not preparing to deliver can have adverse circumstances. Not advertising in business is like going for a war with bullets and no guns. Hoping like the enemy to walk and stumble on a rock and die on your bullet. I know this may not answer your question as you wanted it but lets face it, business marketing and war is very similar, you cannot afford to go withot being equiped. And if a soldier needs all the equipment to be appraised before it is being issued, well .. lets just say surrender is a better option. No. There are no guarantees in advertising. No one can ever say..."This will have such and such exact response" You can have a "pretty good" idea if somehting will have some amount of success, because there are certain time tested things that usually always work...The success of advertising deponds on literally hundreds of tiny parts working cohesively together..be they design elements, timing, target, words, structure, etc etc. You can test market, expecially in direct market campaigns. Then you can adjust your ad and test it again. That's been the long standing technique for determining the value of an advertisement. |
