What is a good way to promote/advertise/sell? |
I'm currently writing a paper for a business class I took this summer. My assignment is to Describe how I would go about starting my own business. I realize that in order for it to work, I have to advertise to get customers. In case this helps, my business would be a franchise of Dunkin Donuts. 1. Dunkin Donuts is a franchise. The corporate headquarters will provide co-op advertising. When you buy the franchise the advertising and promotions come with it. Take a look at what they have to offer. Take advantage of it. They probably have their own marketing program. (Hint: go to your local Dunkin Donuts and ask the owner. He/she may share the information with you just to help you with your homework.) 2. Assuming the worse, an "open house" or "grand opening" is a great way to start the ball rolling. Preprinted banners can be purchased inexpensively on line. There are restrictions at the city level on the use of banners and signs so be sure you comply. 3. Start right off with a pad of entry blanks and a fish bowl on the counter capturing names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails to be use for future direct marketing. Give a "free drawing" as the incentive for people to fill out the forms. An in-house list is the single most valuable marketing tool you will ever have. 4. Go to local churches, or civic centers (city parks, swiming pools, etc.) and leave samples and coupons to advertise your open house. 5. Join the local chamber of commerce and bring samples and announce the open house. 6. Take trays of doughnuts around to the local businesses and leave samples along with flyers announcing your open house and coupons. That's a half-dozen ideas. None are costly! Source(s): One of my masters level courses was to do just this. Pick a company and start it up to include marketing. Only I was in Germany at the time and the only way I could find out how to do it was to ask a local shop owner. He told me the customs, the paperwork, and the resourses. I passed the course. I can't remember my greade! hey here is a way to advertise take a look maybe it will help and also if you like what you see lt e kow and i can answer any questions you may have regarding the retire on spending affiliates. at retireonspending.biz/cecilialj Flyers within the stall's vicinity is one good way other than the media, e.g. newspapers. Coupons, magazines, newspapers, radio and local tv. In store promotions (prizes, grand opening events, etc.) Since DD is already established, I would believe a big sign, local billboard, and local newspaper ads are sufficient. Not that people read papers anymore, but its hard to focus advertising money to the local , so newspapers and Penny Saver are your best bet. you have to have 'Big Opening' with balloons and donuts. The rest depends on where is your location, how many visitors you have and other variables that does not depend on your efforts. Customer service and keeping it clean must be your main responsibility. The rest is taken care by the franchiser. |
