Have anyone ever bought from an ad on craiglist?

I have read that many answerer here suggest listing on craiglist. I do not ind it to be useful to generate traffic although i might be wrong. I was wondering why would anyone here recomend something that in theory would not be worth the while.

I have nothing against craiglist, its just that I can not believe the so call experts suggesting it whiout assessing its usefuleness as a consumer.

I have not, but my roommate has gotten furniture and stuff off of craigslist. Actually, that was how we met, as well -- through a 'roommate wanted' ad on CL. Many of my friends have used CL for apartments/roommates, and one bought a car off there. I have also used the 'jobs' section extensively, and I got a job I had for 12 mos through CL.

I have attempted to buy concert tickets through CL several times, it never worked out but I would try again in the future. One time I did sell something, but I didn't post -- I responded to an 'item wanted' ad.

All I can tell you is, it really depends where you are. CL is I think most popular in NYC, SF, and Boston -- so if you live in one of those areas, you would probably have better luck. Besides which, outside of posting a job opening in one of those cities, everything on there is free and only takes about 2 minutes to post, so why not try it?
Craigslist has a huge amount of traffic and it's free to post an ad.
I've bought several things and picked up a few free items from craigslist. I've also sold some things and the response to my ad was great. I sold a 3 year old mower for 200 bucks! I only paid 300 for it new.

If you aren't getting a good response, include a picture and make sure you word the ad well.
My experience of craigslist is in Real Estate.

And it drives a scary amount of fraud mails...people asking me to accept payment via western union, or to accept certified bank cheque...

When i say scary amount of scam mails, i mean like 70 to 90% of people answering my ads are fake.

Having said that their system of hiding your email is quite good and reassuring.

Also, it is just matter of being cautious when buying or selling on this craigslist like anywhere else.

Good luck
Craigslist is awesome I sell and buy form that site. I can find things by searching one word. You can post for free. I receive a lot of traffic from that site.
I would recommend Craigslist to anyone.
It depends on what you want. If you looking for yard sales, part time work, full time work, it has so much to offer and it's free.

I have sold a bunch of stuff on Craigslist and I "Always include a picture". I, myself really don't want to look at something for sale without a picture and you can post 4 of them.

Did you advertise or were you looking in your own state?

What did your title say? Did you put the area you lived in?
Titles are what catches peoples eye, for example, I ran an add and my title ran, "You could furnish your whole Apt/Condo". Because I was advertising a kitchen table and chairs, microwave & chart, a tv, bedroom suite, etc. get my drift?
I wanted to buy some beads for making necklaces so I went under Arts and Crafts.

Make sure you post you listing in the correct catagory too.
I'm enjoying the site and have a lot of luck except for selling my car...that was the first time I got 95% scammers telling "ME" they would buy my car with a cashiers check. Yeah right! I put "CASH ONLY" in my ad. So, you have to delete those.
Good luck, I'm open to emails.
think about this craiglist is a online classifieds for adverising anything and everything, but it takes a little work to find what you want ... check this out www.roysummers.yournewfortune....
