Determinants of national culture Social Structures/ kinship Politics / government influence on the way you launch a product? Let's say you have to launch a the same product in different countries how would all this factor influence your work? "Know your target audience " is the main principle to follow. different groups have different requirements and expectations when it comes to buying a product - successful communication strategy will take into consideration history, cultural specifics, language expressions, and a whole bunch of other unique characteristics in order to better communicate their message. For example, companies who want to launch their product in LA area has to consider the Hispanic audience there and companies who launch their product in San Francisco has to adjust their message to appeal the gay community. Otherwise, companies risk to lose market share to their competitors who do a better communication. Classical example of wrongly chosen message is the launch of Nova car model in South America.(nova = es. doesn't go) Benefit of knowing your target audience is knowing the opinion leaders of that particular country (or culture, or subculture, or socio-group, or whatever classification is chosen). If a company succeeds to convince the local opinion leaders in the benefit of their product, the marketing job becomes easier and more profitable. Culture is tough cookie when it comes to international marketing and that's why international companies partner with local marketing companies familiar with the local specifics when introducing a new product. |
