Are the marketing dept and sales the same dept? thank you? No..marketing is advertising your company to the public and sales is selling to the public. I don't think so. Marketing is where the pompous, little weasels get together and discuss their bureaucracies for sales, money projection, fall, rise etc and sales, the REAL people do it. Not in all companies. Sometimes there's a seperate advertising dept that makes catalogues and websites and promotional products. The sales dept sometimes is the dept with customer contact. Depends on the company. Marketing is more of the logistics of selling a product or products. Sales gimmicks, advertising ideas etc. Sales actually is the financial end to it. -S No, sales is in charge of selling the products and marketing is in the advertising end of it. Some small companies may combine the two, but larger companies have two separate departments. Marketing, brings customers in the store. Sales, sells items to people that are in the store. Not usually, but they do work together alot. The marketing department is concerned with, well the marketing of a particular product or service. They have to figure out the best ways to get people to notice thier product or service, and this is done through advertisements etc. There is research that goes into this process of marketing as well. The sales dept now has to sale that product or service, they may handle this by receiving orders over the phone, in person, mail, or internet, and sometimes in some cases, they go "door-to-door" or present thier product or service to a group of people, in the hopes of making a sale, which can help thier commision. If the product is marketed right, then you can make a sale, thats why they have to work hand-hand. If its a smaller company, they could work together, or be the same person, sort of speak. |
