Anyone know how to TRADEMARK a name and how to find out if one is already trademarked? |
Anyone know how to TRADEMARK a name and how much it cost? Also need to find out if the name I want to TRADEMARK is already registered. How??? Go to www.uspto.gov (Patent & Trademark Office) click Trademarks/Search (TESS) and search for the name. It will return a list of all variations of the name that are already registered. Keep in mind that a name may be used in different industries or "claims" as the call them. If you want to reserve the name you can do it yourself online by clicking "File Online Forms (TEAS)" I've done five. The first two cost $15K for sharks to do it, the next three were DIY at $300 each for the online filing fee. Given that you're asking this question, you should spend about a day reading about it on the USPTO and other sites you can find by searching. Otherwise search the name yourself, and hire a pro to do the registration.
