Career path?

i am a senior in high school and have no idea what to major in when i go to college. i am interested in writing and poetry but im not good with being told what to write. i was thinking about something to do with writing in a magazine but i dont think im good enough so now im thinking about something to do with economics or advertising. does anyone know a job title tht would be good for me or even a place where i can find job titles with descriptions? thanks!

just take a career aptitude test like this http://www.job--listings.info/free-aptit...
and see what they come out with, it's free and it can be fun.. then you'll know what suits your personality and you can take it from there.
good luck
You don't have to declare a major until your junior year. Just go there and take a few classes in different areas you like. Also maybe join a few clubs and write for the paper or something like that. Then in a few years you will know what you want to do.

I wouldn't worry about job titles and all that because most people don't work in the field they major in. Just get to college and have a good time.
You should pay a visit to a career counselor at a nearby college. It was very helpful for me when I was in your place. He helped me find out what I would be good at / enjoy / and make good money doing. It was accurate for me!
Seems like its obvious your interested in a career that involves creativity. What you need to point out is what traits you have because that generally guides you into the type of creative career you should head towards. What I mean is that Advertising/marketing/economic... are careers where you need to have fairly good communication skills and persuasive skills. If your not a really outgoing sort of person than I would head towards copy writing/editing/journalism. It would be most useful to do a double major for example if you were interested in science then science/writing or sports/journalism etc etc. You need to look at your skills and decide whats important to you in a career. Be aware also that most creative careers you need to be able to prove yourself a lot because competition is high. good luck !
