What is the difference between Lands' End "Inlet" and "Outlet" Stores? |
What is the difference between Lands' End "Inlet" and "Outlet" Stores? I think calling it an "Inlet" is just Land's End's way of trying to be a little bit different and to distinguish their retail stores from being true "outlet" stores. The Inlet stores I've been to carry a mix of "catalog favorites" (brand new, popular catalog items), outlet items (discounted, overstock merchandise) and "Not Quite Perfect" items - items with flaws or catalog returns. Loves me my Land's End! They take ANYTHING back! "Outlet" stores are generally the stores with the closeout, discounted, and discontinued merchandise. I would guess that an "Inlet" store would be the store with the most recently acquired merchandise. |
