Getting advertising for my Magazine? |
How does one go about getting a new Magazine/Publication noticed by advertisers to generate a healthy stream of Ad revenue? Do I contact t there them? Are there any Ad agencies that can help me. Funny, ad agencies probably won't help. Unless you're a student that wants to learn the biz, maybe you can find a good mentor. For the most part though, ad agents that I've talked to tend to want to stick to what's been done in the past. I don't see many who will go out and try something new, as far as media is concerned. Their creative - message & slogan, design & attraction. But, they won't try a new media be it print even, if there's not track record. So, if you have a new publication, you're going to have to build a media kit. That's the 1st way to share your information with your prospective advertisers. Second, if you want them to notice you, you need to actually start making your magazine, have a 1st issue with no ads or a sample issue so they can see the quality of your publication. Now, if you want to advertise for advertisers, good luck. I recommend cold calling. And, when cold calling, just be honest and nice on the phone. When I cold call, I tell people, I just want to talk to the appropriate person that takes care of their marketing (very nicely). And, believe it or not, sometimes you get that person on the phone and just share the fact that you would like to show them a publication that will reach their target audience and if they're okay, it'll only take a few minutes. Ad agencies can help but you are going to need some statistics as to how many readers you have, age groups and demographics your magazine goes for. So you will need a marketing research firm first, or do it yoursel. Don't advertise in Yahoo Answers...No one will read it unless it's mispelled... you can get some free advertisement with these guys.they pay you to click on ads but they give you the option of converting the money you've earned into free advertisement http://www.clixsense.com/?2188101...
