Why do retailers have coupons for sales that last on a Sat only between 9am to 1pm? Why not the whole day? |
Just odd, you would think a major retailer, such as Macy's, would want customers coming in and out of their store the whole day for a sale. The sale are usually really good and they don't want to have a good sale all day long. There is a customer base that looks for those early morning sales and shops till they drop, then tells everyone what a good deal they got a Sear/macy's/etc. slow period of day - just to get more people in and then hope they'll shop more for other items Actually they are trying to increase traffic during a time when the store is fairly slow. More likely than not the hours from 1 PM to closing are pretty busy but Saturday morning is a very slow time. People seem to always want what they cannot have. So, when a sale seems to have a sense of urgency to it, people will go out of their way to make it to the sale because they believe it's so exclusive due to the time constraint. |
