Have you ever bought something from a TV Commercial or Infomercial? |
I'm referring to those cheesy knife commercials and these kind of things... There is often an 800 number and the P.O. Box is in New Jersey... This Question is posted as a means of Consumer Awareness... Would it not be reasonable to assume that you can purchase items of the same quality at your local store as opposed to taking a chance on Commercials such as these? Would it also not be reasonable to assume that you can save a lot of money by shopping locally or even online rather than resorting to calling an 800 number or sending money to a P.O. Box? In my many years of being on this planet, I have yet to see any product on television that I ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE right at this very moment... It's quite silly. Traditional commercial advertising needs to go away - it's annoying not entertaining - and be replaced by further integrating products into the production of the television show, movie, etc. where actors in CSI for example are using the products, etc. They are aimed at people that have time on their hands, money in their pocket, and no brain in their heads. Need I say more?? *UGH* My husband has bought 2 different items from those informercials! And they were both trash! One was a tupperware set and another was somesort of veggie chopper - he knows better not to ever do it again! Never have bought anything off tv. I bought a food dehydrator from Ronco and I have had no problems with it. I was tempted to get the showtime barbecue but figure that I wouldn't use it all that much. Ronco (Ron Popeil) is a pretty trustworthy outfit and have been around since the Jurassiac age. I have to admit that I have lol I'm a golfer and if you stay up late watching the golf channel you will get trapped at some point and time into buying something that will help your game and end up in the trash within 2 weeks lol none, so far. yes i bought a Lateral Thigh Trainer about 2 years ago.it is really good,but i am lazy and used it about 3 times! |
