What is the most cost effective way to advertise a seasonal small business? |
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of money to advertise because it will be coming out of my own pocket. This is a huge risk to advertise a business that might not do well. Ads in the local newspaper are fairly expensive for a short amount of time, as well as printing inserts and having the newspaper insert them. Bulk mail-outs are also not an option because of the cost. What is my best bet for the largest distribution for a cost lower than $200? Help from small business owners and advertising majors/marketing majors is most welcome! Thanks! My suggestion would be to contact groups like the local senior center or service clubs like aarp, and others. They are always looking for people to come and speak and do activity's and crafts. So you offer to teach a class on putting together a scrap book or preserving/archiving your slides or photographs for their posterity. They would eat that up! some of the seniors may be able to go home and put photos on a CD or scan and fix them in photoshop, but almost all of them would love to pay $100 to $200 to have all their photos on a CD, fixed permanently and available to give out to their kids and grand kids. if you had a room of say 30 people you could net up to $5000.00 Be creative, organized and professional you will succeed! Because of the Internet the ability to reach your market has become much easier for small start ups but you need to do your research first. Perhaps you should try to identify your potential customers and market directly to them.
