Grocery Store Loyalty Cards - Report Spending??? |
Does a grocery store that has its customers participate in their loyalty program have the ability to track, and report on, customer spending trends. For example, I belong to 3 different stores' loyalty programs. Could I go to a particular store and get a report on what has been purchased in a particular time frame? The stores ABSOLUTELY track all of your spending that is made under their loyalty programs!!! They wouldn't admit, not would they give you a report of your spending. They'd probably be afraid of you finding out how much you really spend on frozen pizzas and Ben & Jerry's! Take advantage of the savings that you earn through these programs, but don't kid yourself, "if something is too good to be true, it probably isn't!" Info is for their use, not yours! Yes, but they probably wouldnt give that information to you. That information sells to marketers and they use it form themselves. The agreement may or may not have made a provision that the information would be sold. I also doubt the individual store would be aable to provide you that type of report. You may be able to buy it from the corporation. I never give personal information for "loyalty cards". I ask for the cards and tell them I'll mail them the information later which I don't do. I do this to avoid junk mail and email. |
