Black Horse Finance (aka rip off city)? |
Well to cut a long story short got a car at Priory Motor Group, financed by black horse. Got diagnosed with cancer in October 2005. Took out Gold Payment Protection Plan and was assured would pay off car if diagnosed with Critical Illness by salesman. Now I know this is not the case. They covered the payments for a year whilst I was bad, but then had to pay again. Recently had to move house and cant afford car anymore. Because of hp can hand car back, but got a letter off Black Horse saying they wanted over 拢1000 for the rest of the pp plan! Never did they say when I made the claim that would mean I would have to pay this amount. Just feels like I'm being financially punished now for having Cancer. Has anyone else experienced problems with them? Whenever I phone them apparently there is no manager to speak to and I have to write in but knowing Black Hosre takes them 6 weeks to reply. Please help any info grateful, Cheers x Usually critical illness cover would pay off your debt on diagnosis of cancer. If you get no joy from complaining to Black Horse themselves, then I would suggest you get in touch with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) who are an independent watchdog who make sure that customers aren't getting ripped off. Firstly though, I would contact Black Horse and ask them to send you their full complaints procedure. This might just make them pull their finger out and resolve your complaint before it goes any higher. Good Luck, hope I have helped. i have a loan with them and they've always been really pleasant and helpful. But i've never missed a payment Black Horse prey on the poor and the stupid. Their interest rates are extortionate and their penalties are very damaging to anyone who defaults. However their business has grown enormously. I think you need insurance advice rather than debt advice and you should contact the insurance ombudsman. |
