Does anyone know how to go about submitting an idea for a programme to television companies? |
I don't work in the industry but with a friends have come with a fantastic idea and I would like to pitch it to the right people - any ideas as to how to start? You can't submit your idea to Television companies. You have to get in contact with Independant broadcasting companies that write script and sell their ideas to the Television companies. It's like writing a book. You can't just go and submit. They won't take it ONLY if you have an agent. The agent who is know will sift through the ones that have no depth, no talent and is not much of a book. This is the same with pitching your ideas. So the first, you need to is get this book, which tells you how and has many, many contacts of agents, broadcasting companies and also, tells you how to structure your work. It is known all over the world: The Writers鈥?And Artists鈥?Yearbook. This book is designed for writers, authors, agents and film producers to script writers. Hope the above is helpful. The book will really help you to understand how it works. Go for it and make it happen. You know you CAN! check out the BBC website. but beware - i submitted an idea for a sitcom about IT support - they rejected it - 1 year later - the BBC produced a sitcom about IT support. could be a coincidence but you never know ... Write a proposal and send it to MTV, they are the only people who look for talent in the general public. |
