The 1942-dated Lincoln cent may be over 60 years old but collectors consider it as a common coin due to its high mintage and easy availability. The date, with a D under date or without, regularly sells for 5 to 10 cents max each at coin shops in condition average circulated. The 1942s with an S under date has better value, but only in near mint or mint conditions.
