I told my current boss that I wanted to apply for another position within the company. He told me verbally that he is giving me two weeks. 3 days later he let me go. I am not supposed to start the new position in the company in a different dept till after the 2 weeks would have passed. I am not sure if they can start me ealier. I am assuming that my current boss will not be obligated to pay me for the rest of the dyas he let me go. Does anyone have experience in this? I am waiting for HR to get back to me
if he let you go - you won't be getting any additional pay after the 3 days
and I would be concerned of whether you have the other position secured anymore.
It's a strange way for a company to operate. If HR says you get nothing, tell them you will apply for unemployment.
