Do you think the Canadian dollar will pass the American dollar? |
Do you think the Canadian dollar will pass the American dollar? As an inflation-fighting measure, the Canadian dollar was allowed to float in 1970. Its value appreciated and it was worth more than the U.S. dollar for part of the 1970s. The high point was on April 25, 1974 when it reached US$1.0443. The Canadian dollar has continued to float since then, but it has not been above the U.S. dollar since 1976. It will again. Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/canadian_do... no Hopefully not...I think our economy is better off with a lower dollar, alot of overseas companies do business with us because it's cheaper to do it here than in the US...with a stronger dollar it'll mean it will be more expensive to do business here. On the other spectrum....China is criticized for Undervaluing the yen...they do that so that the exchange is so cheap and business will make money by doing business there. The only way our dollar will be more than the US is if their economy faulters and there is no choice. |
