Routing Numbers? |
Do banks use the same routing number for all their branches? i.e A CITIBANK IN LA HAS 123456789. would CITIBANK IN NY HAVE THE SAME ROUTING NUMBER? Would appreciate if you can shd light in the matter. Thanks. Over the past couple of years, many banks have begun differentiating between wire transfer routing numbers and ACH routing numbers. The routing number on personal checks is typically only used for check clearing and ACH activity and this is usually branch specific. Wire transfers, on the other hand, are more often processed only through the main branch of the bank and this routing number would be different than the one on your check. So, if you are expecting to get a wire transfer, check with your bank for the correct wire instructions.
