Please anyone help me write a letter to the bank? |
i need to tell them that i intend to pay the account charges, but i need some time the reason being that i do not have any source of income at the moment ? thanks ever so much You're better off calling them. That way you can document the date and time of the call, the name of the rep you spoke to, and what action they've taken. You can also explain your situation, answer any questions they have, and get a full understanding of your options. I've been in this situation before, and I never got any responses from letters I've written. However, a phone call always did the trick. Many creditors will work with you to come up with a payment plan that works for you if you're unemployed - some will even put your payments on hold. However, bear in mind that this will be a negative on your credit report. Even if they work out an arrangement with you, they can still report you as being "late" or in default. Ask lots of questions before you agree to whatever action they suggest. I agree I think you are better off calling them, so that you can make sure that this is taken care of. Just tell them exactly what you are requesting here in your question. Give them all necessary information, from what's been going on with your account to what's happening now. Let them know you are aware of the charges to your account. But that you aren't able to make any payments as you do not have any source of income at the moment. Then request for an extension. It's better to get this type of thing taken care of over the phone. Sending any type of letter, would take 7 to 10 or more business days to get a response from them. Hope this helps. Personal experience with my own personal bank accounts and having to call for a payment extension. Remember to always document everything to save your butt in the future. In any case that the bank says you never called or whatnot. Be sure to note the name of the representative you spoke with. The time you called, as well as the date you made the call. Note what you discussed and what the representative discussed with you. It's always important to back up everything you do. |
