Is it worth it to have hire an outside accountant to handle business bookeeping payroll?

Yes, the IRS considers withholdings their money. Make even a little mistake and they will come after the company and the owner. Save the worry and get a service. Source(s): http://www.accountingaisle.com/knowledge...
Yes, big time! Especially one that also does the filing of the taxes and is an enrolled agent with the IRS... that way they can represent you in case you get audited.
It depends - how many employees?
How many hrs a weeks does it take the current employee to handle all payroll and tax duties?
Is that time better spent on more profitable duties?
Would it save money and aggravation by using an outside service?
Depending on how many employees and so forth you could do part and have the outside company audit your accounting and then issue the 1099's. However it just depends on how big you are and if your bottom line can handle it.
