Anyone else get a BA/BS degree or higher, only to be unemployed and "underqualified" for just about everything

I know the job market is bad, and flooded with graduates... But my all-time low point was getting a letter in the mail from T-Mobile saying I was underqualified to work in one of their retail shops... I need a nice frame for that.

THATS BECAUSE YOUR AN IDIOT!!!!
*Raises hand* depressing isn't it??? A B.A. isn't qualified for entry-level anything really, and I almost wished that I had majored in something other that what I did. Plus, it seems like you have to get a Master's Degree now to do anything...but that still limits you to your frame of study.
Probobly you were overqualified
depends - what's your degree in - Sociology? that type of major is pretty useless in the real world
Ouch! That T-Mobile letter must have been a real cocktail-inducer.

Are you in a major college town? I know around here, the market is flooded with MS/MA level grads looking for work, so my BS is pretty worthless. I'm in a good job now due to some luck, but am terrified to look elsewhere when the time comes because most jobs have "Master's Preferred" in the descriptions. So no advice, just some empathy.
Welcome to the real world. Every college grad encounters this. Don't worry - yes, you have to start out making coffee and copies or selling shoes, but after a few years of paying your dues you get to move up the ladder. Just keep looking for industries that interest you, and save the letter to post on your wall when you're an executive someday. ;)
I was always getting "you're OVER-qualified" after I got the experience. Hang in there and never quit. Look around for a company that you would be interested in and try to get ANY job they may have open, just to "get your foot in the door".
