What are the questions asked in an job interview? |
What are the questions asked in an job interview? There are so many questions: 1) Usually questions about your experience--can you handle the work load? The stress? 2) They usually ask what your greatest flaws and strengths are. Be honest. Don't try to impress. Don't say "I am a perfectionist." Instead, say something that IS your flaw and make it your strength. "I tend to procrastinate but I have turned that into a motviation tool." 3) They will ask how you confront problems in the workplace--are you honest? Do you upset a lot of people? What? 4) They may ask you a no-no question (regarding sexuality, marriage, religion, race, etc) just to see if you're on your toes. 5) If you've just come from college, they will ask you what your favorite or hardest classes are. Expect to be honest. "I enjoyed taking Hebrew even though I was an accounting major because it made me think outside of the box, something accountants needs to do in some circumstances." I can't stress it enough--don't act to impress. Bring up your best strengths, but don't get too over the top. Interviewers KNOW when you are BSing. Also, act confident and not needy. Here are some questions for YOU to ask: 1) Respond to what the interviewer explained--what programs are used primarily, what is the operating system, how many people go into a project/whatever, etc. 2) Ask questions about the company--is there room in this job for advancement, who gives the annual review (if there is one), what is the dress code, what is the company's policy on giving to charity, 3) Ask about the job itself--what is the annual salary, what benefits are there, who are the benefits through, is there a 401K, is there a matching policy, how much travel time is needed, etc. 4) Ask about your concerns, be honest--how many employees are there, how many locations are there, how many times has the company switched owners, etc. Don't come out and ask "what is your maternity leave like?" or "what is your short-term disability like?"--you want to show that you are interested in the position AND the company. Would you be ok if I took some pictures of you? It depends entirely on the job and what is required of it. They'll probably ask about education and other qualifications, then move on to job-specific questions Do you put out? umm...when I was interviewed, where I went to school, where I had worked before, what else was going on in my life (that might interfere with work), if I had transportation to my job, and what hours I could work, but this was for a basic fast food job, others might ask alot more umm...me One is do you have a resume? |
