Has anyone ever a problem with their employer about going overseas to vist their family for 2 to 3 weeks?

Just Curious if anyone has had a problem with going on vacation overseas to visit their family when they submitted their request to their employer and if so what did you do? Did you appeal the denial?

I know of very few employers that would give you that much time off for a non-emergency reason and still keep your job.

Some companies may give you that much vacation, but will not allow you to take more than 1 week at a time.

I would not appeal it if it was denied.
No. Employer usually accommodate the employee, if the employee has a good work-history with the company.
Yes, my boss promised (never got it in writing) me a 1 of the 2 weeks pay, and when I came back he said he doesn't remember that converstaion - asshole.
I've had to deny vacation time to employees when the workload does not permit. I always try to suggest an alternative time period when I could allow extensive vacation time.
