Where should I apply for my next job?

I'm desperate to get out of the job that I currently have at a retail store because of poor management and limited availability of hours. I've only been there for three months and things really aren't looking too well, this is also my first job. I'm currently am making $8.00 per hour. I would like to keep the same pay but it's gonna be hard since I'm only seventeen and don't have much work experience. I'm considering applying to UPS to become a package handler. I really don't know where to apply. I live in a huge suburb by the way. What jobs would you recommend? Would you recommend UPS?

UPS is nice, I am pretty sure the starting package handlers are just 4hrs/ day so that would still leave you a lot of time for school. The pay probably starts a little higher than what you are making now.
My brother works for UPS as a package handler, and it's a very physical job with a high turnover rate. If you think you can handle a physically demanding job, and still find time to study & go to school, go for it, they pay great, but I think it would be tough to juggle as a fulltime student.

Good luck...
Better keep the job you have, at your and and being part time help, most companies will not hire you.
ups sounds like a good choice for you
flexable hours and tuition reimbursement.
mcdonalds does the same thing though, they are a good company to work for while you are in school. find some place with tuition reimbursement and get all you can for free!
Ask the people with the PTA. in ur school. Even though the job doesn't give many hours. Poor management. The $$$ is good. Really good for 17yrs. old. Hang in there, something good will happen.
Anywhere u work just about has poor management. Just clock in and clock out. Maybe some day ur be the asst. manager!
Hey man what's going on?

Well you are only one year younger then me. I'm 18, and I've applied for a number of supermarket jobs. I never been interview and still trying to get a job.

After high school, go to college to major in something that you will be interested in. Go to college for something you will be interested in. you still have a little time left, so spend it wisely. You mentioned working for UPS. I don't know their age requirements for jobs, but go on their web site and check it out. I have heard some thing about working for UPS. There are also other mailing service companies also, like Fedex.

I am not sure if mailing companies, prefer to hire applicants who have gone to college, but they going to college always helps. If you go to a community college, that will be at the least a little of a reference for you getting some job. All companies like to hire applicants who have gone to college, and certain college degrees are required for certain jobs.

Research it online buddy, and you will have yourself on the road to success.
