How long is too long to not hear back from a prospective employer?

It's been a week today since my second interview. All went very well during both interviews, and the 2nd even said he would definitely recommend me for a 3rd to meet his boss.

I understand that Credit, Motor Vehicle, and Criminal Background checks are done as a matter of procedure for this company, but I can't see that as a problem. My record is clean. The only issue is credit, but it isn't bad enough to not get hired IMO.

So, am I just too anxious? Or should I be concerned? I'm thinking of sending an inquiry to the recruiter via email?

Thoughts?

about 7 business days is normal. be proactive and make a call or drop an email, it will show them you are willing and able or it you do it repeatedly it might tick them off so use commom sense.
Nothing you can do at this point will change the outcome. Forget about it, go on with your life, and believe me if they are interested, they will call you soon. Also, many people go on vacation this time of year. Bad credit can't keep you from a job if they really want you there.
Right now YOU are the boss! apply to any place you want to work and YOU get to pick. Don't count on just one outstanding prospect that has yet to come through for YOU.
