After staying at home with the kids for a few years I have decided to plunge back into the workforce. I was at my previous job for 6 years. In my job search I came across a job that matched my skills at my old company I applied they interviewed me which I feel went good. They said that they would get back to me in a couple of weeks (kinda need a job soon) anyways another opening closer related to my old job has come available too at the same company. Do I need to wait the two weeks or is it okay to put my name in for the other position?
i would be in the hr manager's office in a new york second and tell him that i would also be interested in this second job and let him decide just which job he fills would be the most value to the company
Tough call...If there's an HR department, I would probably contact them and ask them what's the best approach. If there's no HR department, I would try to contact the person who you originally spoke with, and ask them for guidance...
