Male nursing (gay!)?

I start my Nursing Degree in September, though I am worried that when I begin placement on the wards, I will be looked upon differently because I am a gay male. How will straight guys react to a male nurse giving him a bed bath!? I really want to become a nurse, but I have these little niggles which keep getting to me! Please make me feel better!

don't let that stop you. if it's really what you want to do, go for it.
dont tell them your gay
Keep it separate from your job, and don't do anything that someone could misinterpret. Care for people of either gender with excellence and they will notice that you're a good nurse. That's all you need to be.
It depends on the person. I'm sure if it bothered a patient enough, they would just ask for a female nurse. When my son was in the hospital (he was 5yrs), one of his nurses was a gay male. We had no problem with him whatsoever. He was actually one of my favorite nurses. You will probably have to deal with some close minded *** holes. They are everywhere. Stay strong, folloow your heart. Being a nurse is a great thing. You will help so many people.
