What do i need to know?? i need answers soon plzz? |
i got a job as a cashier at a thrift store. i didnt start yet and my manager wants me to call him tomorrow to like.. check up and answer any questions i have.. what kind of stuff should i ask? i have: how many days per week will i work? whats the dress code? (we dont have uniforms) how many hours a day will i work? when do i start? (obviously) lol but is there anything else i should know about what to do or whats going on? i can think of anymore right now. i would make sure to ask what the pay rate is... and also maybe not when you call him, but before you get too far into it i would make sure you understand all the companies policies-for example, how do they deal with sexual harassment, etc. make sure you also find out about simple things like how to handle an irate customer. most of the above things are usually covered in an orientation period, but some places dont have thorough orientation processes. Source(s): experience. I think you've got everything planned out right...just be confident, Go For It!! You want the information in writing!! Always get them to write, sign and date so there is no confusion. You want to know about Pay, overtime, staff meetings, annual leave, sick leave, notice needed for leave, taxation, when you will get your first check, breaks and meals, lateness (sometimes if you are more than 5 mins late the take off 30 mins, things like that), is there training, will you be paid for training and meetings, employee discounts, I am sure there are others that but you really need to gauge your boss. Oh, make sure it is clear who you answer to, nothing worse than having multiple bosses tell you different things. You should be able to get a feel for your boss and decide how much you trust them. I usually decide how many questions I need to ask and what I need in writing by how I feel about the person hiring me. these are good. they will let u know anything else. dont sweat they already hired you so just chill. this will be a fun laid back job. i envy you they pay decent money for minimal stress. |
