PLEASE HELP ME TO EVALUATE 2 OFFERS! Am I being totally stupid? |
Hi there! I am a fresh grad and just got two offers. One is a permanent position at a big company, unfortunately 30 minutes commute. The other one is contractor at Randstad (Stuffing company) for another big company, which is just 5 minutes from where I live. The position and compensations are almost the same. I really prefer the one with less commute but I am not sure about working for a stuffing company.Could somebody tell me if there is any big disadvantage working as a contractor for a stuffing company? Please just let me know if I am being totally stupid to not choose the permanent one!! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are doubting the closer one chances are that you will not be happy in the long run. Ya, maybe it's alot closer but working at a crappy and boring job is not worth the quick drive. I was in the same situation and I have to drive 30 mins five days a week. But to be honest I literally love my job so much that it doesn't seem like that long because i look forward going there everyday. So pick the one you think you would be happiest doing. Good luck! I'll take the permanent job at the big company. But that's my 2 cents. it's really up to you to decide which would be more comfortable for you. I would go for the one that is more permanent. If anything you can always move. My husband drives an hour, used to be two from where we lived, to get to work. But in this day and age you need stability even if it is 30 minutes away. take the permanent position. not only is it permanent which is a good thing, it will offer you alot of growth opportunities in the future. eventually, im sure the aspects of the job will outweigh the commute. congrats! |
