Im thirteen and thinking of a career in acting seriously.What's the best way to do it? Go to acting schools, join theatre/drama clubs. Join the theatre club. Go to acting school for beginners. Make your own video, acting, whatever you want and post it in youtube. People always get notice in there. www.youtube.com If you are serious--get good grades in school, join their theatre/acting club ifthey have one. If they don't check with the YMCA in your area some Y's have it, if not they can more than likely refer your to a theatre workshop. When you graduate H, go to college and major in theatre and minor in in communications. My nephew is starting USC this fall and is to major/minor like I suggested to you. Best of Luck. Hope to see you on TV or in the Movies one day OK, good time to start thinking about it, because Actors need to start young (well, it deff. helps if you've been out there for a while) I can't promise anything, because Acting is a very uncertain career. Here's how you can help yourself. Take drama classes: preferably at an acreddited drama school. Get involved in amateur theatre: Local theatre performances are a GREAT way to get noticed. Scouts may attend them, and even if they don't, its something you can use as back-up when finding an agent, or auditioning for a role. Experience is key! Find an agent: They find auditions for you, don't do this until you're really serious. And audition for EVERYTHING, as long as you fit the requirements, any acting is good acting, the more challenging, the better, even if you don't really like the character you'll portray (note: You will always find soemthing to love in your character even if it is just a tree...or a chorus member.) Any experience is good experience. join the theater club also look on line for some pointers, there probably looking to hire get your name out there lie, cheat or pay your way into Rada. get to know the right people create a profile in the IMDB database. |
