What kind of a career can I look forward to after studying humanitarian sciences? What is the starting salary p.a.? Also, what exactly is the route to studying this subject? Peace and blessings! there are a couple of options that I was able to find, and most have a Global aspect to them so you may get to work in an international location: - Social Services work - pay is not great and it varies depending on where you live. Sometimes this can be viewed as a "thankless" job - IRIN (www.IRINnews.org) is a unique humanitarian news and analysis service. Part of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, IRIN provides original content about emergencies to an audience of millions worldwide through the internet, TV and radio. This is just one of many humanitarian organizations you can work for. - You can work for the United Nations Humanitarian effort - very respectable profession and its a government job so the pay and benefits are good. the most interesting site I found was Idealist.org - http://www.idealist.org/career/morejobs.... - they list opportunities in Humanitarian efforts globally. if you choose to pursue this career it is a respectable and honorable career - congrats!
