Student Job?????

I'm studying Interior & Spatial Design at uni & need to get a foot on the career ladder but the problem is that no one wants to hire a student part time in that industry.

Would anyone know of companies in the UK that do this, preferably in East Anglia?

Hmm, I don't even know where East Anglia is (stupid American, me), but here's what I did in college, and it worked out great for me. I started my own business. I wanted to work for an advertising agency, so in school I just started my own ad "agency." I did print and radio ads for local businesses, student organizations, and individual students (people running for some office or whatever, etc.). Not only did it help pay for college, but everyone I interviewed with was incredibly impressed that I had the initiative to do that. I can't tell you how helpful that was in landing a career out of school. You can do the same thing. There are PLENTY of students and others who would pay to have an interior designer!
Mooshie is right, start your own business, advertise in local papers, and charge cost plus 1% as your fee. Cost is your materials, travel, expenses etc.

Good luck!
