I can't find a job! grrr..? |
I'm not being extremely picky, I just want a job so I can pay for tuition. I've tried browsing the mall and dropping off resumes, even checking out the newspapers and faxing, emailing..the works! But even with so many "now hirring" signs in shop windows... I haven't had ANY luck! Any suggestions? I was aiming for a retail/sales job, I dont think it takes alot to do those and I've got a solid resume. Why are the companies not hiring you, are they giving a reason. Some places put out the Hiring signs to get resumes for when they need people, even if they don't really need people immediately. Still it sounds like you are doing most of the right stuff. What I did when I needed a job was go through the entire newspaper/ online sites/ craigslist. For anything that looked promising I'd call them up and ask if I (assuming my application was fine) could get a job starting immediately (don't say what immediately means as they will need a varying amount of time to check on you). If they say yes, then clearly they are serious about getting someone (otherwise they may still be serious you just can't tell). You can try that but since almost everyone will say no you have to keep putting in your resume everywhere until you get something. This might help....I am posting a link to a site that has information that might be helpful to you, especially if you want to make some extra cash to help out every month.... http://putterpods.blogspot.com I hope the information helps...! :>) Personal Experience Why don't you try to setup your own online business? Take a look at http://www.moneyaside.com - make money online - work from home - Just Tips If you're not being "extremely picky" you're being picky in some manner. Stop that. Also knowing someone who works somewhere generally helps get a foot in the door. See if any of your friends know if their place of work is hiring. all I can say is, here's a site that could help you http://www.job--listings.info there's an aptitude test in there and at the end they'll put forward a job or two, you might get lucky, or just send your resume to all the sites, there's tons and tons of choices there. Just keep on trying and something will happen, it always does. Good luck. Hun, do you do call backs? Choose one you want & call them everyday. Ask for the personal manager, be persistant. Tell them how much you'll be an asset for the company! |
