Declining job offer after accepting it ? |
I am doing consulting for company A . Future Employer gave me an offer. say Company B. We negotiated and I accepted the offer. When I resigned from Company A (currently Consulting) , they counter offer me and offered me fulltime position with them. I thought about it and denied offer from company A but management keep coming back inspite of me denying the offer finally after close look at it I accepted the offer. for the reason my future company is not doing too good (I was working for that company in the past). They have been aquired by huge company but was told that I will be still working with the same company and will not have any opportunity to get in to other possible avenues or jobprofiles. I know that Future employer offering me the job profile is not having great future since profile is limited to what I was working in the past. How do I say no to my future employer? Just call them or let whomever you had originally accepted the job from and let him/her know that you can no longer take the job because you have been given an offer that you think will be better for you and your family. Call them ASAP and let them know that you've been made another offer and have decided to accept it. That simple. just don't show up they'll get the point Just tell them that you have been putting a lot of thought into their offer, and have changed your mind and decided not to accept the job. Thank them for their time and interest in you and apologize for any inconvenience it has caused anyone. Everyone has the right to change their mind, I'm sure they'll understand. And if they don't, then whatever, you're probably better off without them anyway. Good luck. :) Do NOT just not show up. That would seriously burn bridges. You may need those connections in the future. Just tell Company B that after further consideration, you've decided you must rescind your acceptance. If they ask why, be honest and give them the reasons. Also, do it by phone or in person, not by e-mail, and do it well in advance of the start date. I had this one guy who was supposed to start with me on a Monday, only to e-mail me the Friday before to say he found something else better. But, he came crawling back stating the other opportunity wasn't better afterall. Too late, had hired someone else. |
