Should I consider quitting? |
I just started working as a cashier at a pet retail store this week and already came off short twice when counting my register. I feel like such an idiot and I heard from one manager that after three write-ups you get terminated. But someone told me that might not necessarily be correct and is up to the hiring manager to decide to terminate me. I'd rather quit before I get fired. It's stressful sometimes too at work because sometimes Im the only cashier well I'd have to call someone else to cashier with me on the intercom when the line gets too long. I didn't even get that much training the first day and the next day they made me in charge of the front. And I'm pretty forgetful and scatterbrainish sometimes. I'd forget to give the customer the bag with their purchases, for example. What to do ? You are a square peg in a round hole. Cashiering is obviously not for you. Look for a job that suits your personality and skills. Peace and blessings! ask for more training i wud consider quitting, but wait about a week before u do to make sure this is what u really want to do Ask for training. I'm surprised they're letting you go at it by yourself in your first week. before you quit, talk to a counselor at the local community college. register for a program that will give you better skills and earning potential. the college will assist you with financial aid and employment, too. |
