I should join the new job or not ? |
both my present and offered are eqally good organization.in offered job I would have more responsibility and more working time , salary difference marginal.but the biggest difference is present job is transfferable and the offered job is not transfferable and at the same time the offered job is at my home town, just walking distance from my home. Presently my expences are more and I expect at offered job expeces will be less. should I join the offered job ? Pls suggest .. yes you must surely say yes to the new job. I don't completely understand what you mean by "transferrable", so let me give you a basic framework for how to make the decision. Why did you apply for the new job in the first place? Or did a headhunter contact you?If you applied rather than a headhunter recruiting you, than what was your motivation? Were you upset with your boss or one of your colleagues, looking for an escape? Were you dissatisfied with your wages and benefits? Were you looking for a new challenge or a different company? Were you homesick in your home town? I would make a pro's and con's list- on the left side of your page, reasons to stay where you are now. On the right side of the page, list reasons to go to your new offer. But don't just make your decision based on that list. Go with your gut feeling. If something feels amiss about going to the new offer, than don't go. I don't know where I heard this - it might have been a movie - but there is a coin trick you can try if you are "sitting on the fence" about a decision. Choose a side of the coin that corresponds to your decision - say, you will flip the coin, and if it lands on heads, you will go to the new job. If you flip the coin, and it lands on tails, that means you have to stay where you are now. If you are relieved that it said you have to stay where you are now, that tells you what your heart really says you should do. On the other hand, if you are disappointed that it said you can't go to the new job, that tells you what you should do! The coin trick is a great way to decide. Best of luck whatever you choose! |
