HELPPPPPP!!!!!!! please... so scared!!!! first job interveiw? |
its at Joann's (a craft store thing) What should i expect? What should i wear? (i am 16) What kinds of things will i be answering? Where do i go to do my interveiw, like where should i go when i get there? (the costomers service desk??) i am a really shy person so i just want to know everything. i am realllllllyyyyyyyyyy shy :( 1] read up on Joann's online - find out about stores, services, history, anything that sounds like homework! You will sound knowledgable and enthusiastic. 2] NO DENIM ever at interviews, unless you are working construction. 3] wear a pair of nice slacks or skirt, jacket, and top with no pictures, bare shoulders, cleavage, or nipples! [ no screened Ts, camisoles, halters, tube tops, or braless! ] A fitted T, tank top, or pretty blouse all work well. Wear closed toe pumps, flats,or wedges. A pair of earrings or necklace would be good - avoid bracelets or rings that catch in a fabric store. [ make sure watch doesn't either! ] Hair should be clean, weel grromed, and appropriate for age - no pigtails etc. Makeup should also be appropriate for age - mascara, blush, lipcolor in natural looking shades. Wear lots of deodorant - put some on palms of your hands - they won't get as sweaty for shaking hands. Brush teeth, mouthwash, of course. Nails should be clean and well groomed. 3] Smile at customer service - " Hi, I'm Suzie Snowflake. I have an interview with Ms. Strawberry Shortcake. Can you let her know I am here, please?" Smile and shake hands with Ms. Shortcake, too. 4] go to: acing the interview at jobsearch.about.com Good luck! Source(s): gotten every job I wanted i dont know Joanns, hun? Wear something respectable. Something you could work in. Be yourself! After the interview immediately send the interviewer a thank you card for their time. This should help seal your job. There's all kinds of websites that have sample interview questions. Just practice answering them out loud so you won't be so nervous. Wear something neat, wouldn't go as far as a dress, maybe a skirt or nice pants, etc. Ask the first person you see when you go in - say like hi I'm here for an interview, where am I going? lol...and good luck! Congrats! don't worry just answer as best you can, it's your first interview. Never had an interview, but my sister has and I remember helping her out and her telling me about it. Wear something that's appropriate to the job, if you are expected to dress quite smart, wear black trousers and a top. If its more casual, maybe you could wear jeans. Visit the place beforehand, to see what the staff wear, what kind of things go on, the kind of atmosphere etc. Get some background information on the company, it will make you seem more confident and clever about the place if an opportunity to use the information comes up. Use the Internet or something. Go early, be polite, be optimistic and stay calm. Hope it helped. =) |
