If Im 14 years old and work in a grocery store how much do I get paid? |
as a bagger Probably not a penny over minimum wage. I would hold out until I could find something that will pay a bit more. Some of these places are anxious to hire you because you are so young and they're think that you won't mind getting paid so little. Is there a mall close by? Try working at a small clothing store at the mall. The working conditions are a bit better, you can get to know your manager on a personal level and that experience will help you with future part time jobs. First of all, at 14, you'll need to apply for and get a work permit. Then it depends entirely upon where you live and what the going rate is for that position. Ask the grocery store manager when you apply. You mean you're getting paid? Most likely minimun wage. What state do you live in? Because if your 14 then normally your not legally allowed to work. So if you were a bagger you would be paid "under the table" and however much they wanted to give you! you did not ask when you got hired -- well it is too late now i would wait until payday then divide the number of hours into you gross pay and you will have your hourly rate - into your paycheck and you will have you take home rate. hang in there that is one of the first jobs i had == remember cans on bottom bread on top or is it the other way around. you shouldnt be working but if so about 5.15 - 5.25 and hour depending on where you stay |
