Human Resource Management Certificate?


Is it a waste of time to get your certification in Human Resource Managment? I don't have HR experience but would like to get my foot in the door to a new career. Any suggestions?

Certificates, Degrees, and PHR are all good ways to open doors into HR.

Of course, so is experience - but the education will make it easier to break into HR.

I would suggest checking out your local SHRM chapter (www.shrm.org) Society of Human Resource Managers will help you get to know some of the local professionals, as well as how they got into HR and may even let you know when they hear of openings.
