Is this a realistic career goal?

Hi guys, I'm just looking for an objective perspective on this whole thing. Is it a realistic career goal to want to get a degree in zoology and maybe go on to get a Master's degree to specialize a bit, then study animal behavior in Africa through a research institute?

I don't know how difficult it would be, I don't want to be a zookeeper or anything, watching animals in captivity saddens me. At the same time, researching in a lab most of the day sounds a bit boring. So doing this seems like a good idea, I just don't know how to go about doing it.

So, is this realistic, and how might I get started?

I suggest you find out exactly what you want to do, then find a person that does exactly that and contact this person and ask if you could meet for a few minutes just to help you orient yourself in the perfect career. This is a lot of years of study without knowing if it will lead you down the right path. These kind of meeting are done all the time, my daughter did it before applying to college. Also, find a career counselor and meet with him asap.
you can go and study animals in their natural habitat.
