Moving from within the city, relocation advices?

As I said before, I live in my mom's house, once I find a position --- i'm pretty much kicked out. Therefore there is no choice of staying -- I'm basically staying at a temporary place. Its kind of complicated.

But how would I ask for relocation assistance? Or could I even ask for assistance, because I'm actually not living in my own place? How would I explain such a situation? I would greatly need the assistance if I could receive it -- no help from parents anyways.

Any advice would help. Thank you.

I've worked in HR for 10 years and I would never provide anyone relocation assistance if they were moving within the same city. That's not an issue of relocation, but more an issue of budgeting.

Rather then focus your request from a new employer on relocation, position it in the form of a sign on bonus. Tell them that you need a sign on bonus - odds are you'll get it within 2 weeks of your start date, so you'll have to sit tight at first, but then you should get your funds.

Good luck!
