What time period does 'third shift' fall into? |
When a job is for first, second, or third shift, what is the rule of thumb on what specific hours you need to be available? from working a 24hr shipyard , the times were these,1st was from07:30to 16:00hrs-then 2nd came on around15:00hrs to 23:30-last 3rd was the graveyard08:00hrs, all these times orelapped so one crew passed the ordes for repair. And the 2nd is you need to be available for the shift your on.And this means ready to work, suit up and get wet. Source(s): Former shift worker, all of them.If you want to get ahead be ready to do any shft, thats a great worker. It's aka the "graveyard" shift or midnight to 8am. generally 10 pm to 12 mid through 6 am to 8 am All. Third shift is graveyard. You may be asked to stay and cover first, so always be available. Okay ... you need to find out the 'first shift' starting time and 'add 16 hours to find a 'third shift' starting time ... and add 1/2 hour to the 'first shift start' to the 'end' of the third shift to account for 1/2 hour 'lunch' which is REQUIRED BY LAW. The specific hours depend on the company. first shift is daytime, second shift is afternoon/evening and third shift is night. |
