DO YOU LlKE YOUR JOB?

DO YOU LlKE YOUR JOB?

I have been a waitress for the past 5 years, and about 99% of the time I really like my job. I get to meet new people every day, joke around with them, serve awesome food, flirt, and make great money (about $15/hour in tips). Of course there are times when I hate my job...the rude customers, when the food order gets messed up, burned etc. and they blame you, bratty kids, slow nights when I walk out with $20, and the people who stiff...
not really, i'm content with it i guess.
I love my job!
I'm a retired psychologist ... the closest thing I have to a 'job' these days is answering questions here on Y!A. I always loved my job, but got 'totally burned out' by it at the same time, and felt it was better to 'quit' while I was still helping people, instead of continuing on and making more and more 'mistakes.' I am also a 'part time professional writer' ... which takes up about 1/4 of my 'weekday' ... and I'm also very happy with that. My husband doesn't LIKE his job, he LOVES IT. He's a fine artist who was 'trained' in Web Management, went straight into teaching for five years, but now has a 'normal job' as the Web Developer at a company that does 'advertising display' and all of the 'related web stuff' ... sometimes he's overstressed, but he usually is like a five year old going of to Kindergarten ... he 'must' but it's mostly play to him ... so we are both EXTREMELY HAPPY with our lives ... and with each other.
I like the work I do. I get paid way too much to sit on my butt and type zip codes all day. But the money is the only reason I am still there. I have been working 6 days a week since May. We were told it was only for two weeks. Some one can't count. The only way I can get a day off is if I die. My son couldn't have a birthday party this year because I couldn't get the time off. I missed most of his baseball games too. Because I wasn't allowed to work another shift. If it wasn't for the money and I don't have to dress up for work, I would be gone.

I almost forgot I get no benefits either. No vacation time. No medical insurance. I'm only guaranteed 2 hours of work a day. It doesn't matter what the schedule says. That hasn't happened for quite a while but it has. And I get fired every year. Sounds crazy but it's just a way that they get around paying benefits.
ppl thinks that I麓m crazy but I REALLY like my job. Not sure if I麓m a lucky girl or a workaholic :-) lol
