Career change for a mechanic? |
I like using my hands, maybe building things... it might sound strange to you but I suggest computers. I know many mechanics who seem to find fixing computers quite easy, me being one of them. It's much easier than rebuilding a motorcycle crankshaft or sussing out some strange intermittent electical problem!! Hi Bm, Try going to wwwflatratetech.com/forums and read all they have there. The site was originally setup for frutrated Ford techs that suddenly found the times allowed for a procedure cut by 30% at first and the times have been shaved yearly ever since... Depending on where you are and the availibility a fleet job is now one of the best avenues for an automotive tech to take short of getting out altogether. It is sad in that the cutting of SLTSs has caused many to "flush" the customers by "upselling" needless services... Whatever you do good luck friend... An automotive tech of today is well versed in computers, welding, HVAC, as well as mechanics... http://www.flatratetech.com/forums/index... building homes a framer! Carpentry, Masonry, painting, paving, roofing, apply for some of them and see which one you like best with the most pay. |
