How do you start a career when you don't know what you want to do for a living? |
What I am trying to ask is how do you start a career without going to school? I mostly have skills as a mechanic working in a tire store and working as a Bradley mechanic in the military. I don't want to work as a mechanic anymore. I had a job as a technical support agent but that job was too stressful. I love computers but without a college education I really can't work with computers. I attended Digipen for 2 semesters but don't have anymore money to attend. I have to go back into the Army because I have applied to over 150 jobs and haven't been hired for a single one. I have had lots of interviews but no one has given me a call back. I know what I want to do but don't have the money for it. I want to make video games, write novels and stories, even make films. I don't know where to start. I am 29 years old and need to find a job where I can make my living. Any responses will help. Thanks. your first sentence and the last part of your question are at total variance. I think you are confused. In any way, if no one is willing to hire you but you have an option of going back to the army, not bad. Make a living, save money and then try to realise your dreams. to write a book, you don't need much money. hey man i have my own window cleaning business. i was 19 working for another guy, learned the tricks of the trade and what i needed to invest in, threw everything on my credit cards, got my DBA, lisenced bonded, advertised and within a year i was rollin in the dough! now i have 3 employess that work for me and i rarely work. my advise to you is to maybe open a business in somehting your good at, but since you dont wanna be a mechanic anymore, look into a diff career of home services. thats where the money is at. work for someone for a bit learn what you need to know and build your own business on the knowledge that you learned. trust me i'm 24 now and made 120k last year. own hard work and dedication... |
