Curtailing caddy co-worker comments while maintaining professionalism?

Brand new casino opening and all employees are new except for those who previously worked together at other properties. Already some of the "women" in my department have begun their "let's attack the girl from Las Vegas" campaign. I understand that fear is the motivation for these not so nice comments, however, I'd like to maintain my professional demeanor with my new team members. Should I just overlook these caddy comments and let my work speak for itself, or should I approach the women who have already begun to gossip and nip this thing in the bud? There's going to be a high rotation of employees over the next few months and people like me have supervisory experience. Some of us will be promoted. It may be wise to say nothing at all unless the gossip becomes slanderous, but until then, does anyone have some good suggestions for being pro-active?

Slap one of them then tell the others "What happens in Vegas, just left Vegas."
