Job Application Form question..... "Briefly explain why you would like to be considered for this position:" |
The job I am applying for is an IT Consultant at the company where I already work as an engineer. There is a section further down the page regarding experience so I don't think its necessary to write it in here but a good set piece here would really help me if any1 could offer any advice or even write me something I would be much appreciated. say how youv always wanted to work in IT and how you have developd ur skills to help you achieve this eg becoming a microsoft registered proffessional cause I really admire you suck up you feel your skills would be better suited to this position?? maybe say why you like working for the company and why you are interested in changing jobs to an IT consultant, mb talk about loyalty to the company and pride in what you do and what the company does. point out why you would be a good IT consultant and what qualities you can bring to the job. im not even sure what it is but words such as teamwork, time keeping, initiative and loyalty should be worked in somehow. best of luck! I always hated this question, whether on an application or if the interviewer asked it. You have to find a way to talk yourself up. Remind them of your great qualifications. Be sure to show your confidence. look at the key tasks you would be doing and explain how each one is something you can already do, enjoy doing, want to learn more about etc. the other half is not so much about the job but about you. tell them that you have the right personality, and things like organisational skills, analytical nature, enthusiasm for creativity.. i think this part is the most important and plays a much bigger part in the selection process that some think another way of doing it if you dont want to sit down and list things is pretend youre describing to a friend how excited you are about the job and the he asks you whats so good about it. finally, pretend you havent heard back for a while and think "ive gotta get an interview, surely,im really suited for this.. " and then you will start thinking how you can do all the things for the job and have the right attitude for it.. GOOD LUCK!
