Is it okay for women to make more money than men? |
my wife and i are both family doctors. She makes $140k while i make $120k, and i have no problem with that. I am actually proud that she is worth more than me in the medical market. But, while at a party, a friend of mine was outraged that i made less than my wife for some reason. i told him that i was proud and had no problem with that, but i think he had issues with male-biased thinking. no offence to your friend but he needs to get with the 21st centerary this is becoming a more and more common thing, women are becoming just as independent as the men i think you should just feel lucky that together you are pulling in a 1/4 of a mil a year between the two of you and stop being bothered by peoples opinions so much. its perfictly fine. There's nothing wrong with it but the majority of men make more than the women Your friend needs to stop being so old fashioned. Congrats to your sugar-mama (justkidding). But of course we are allowed to make more money. Gee, what gave you that impression? Was it the chauvanism or the resentment? Yes he does have problems...maybe he's just internally jealous that you and your wife may make more than he does. But that doesn't matter in life. Just be happy with ur wife. :) ~adia. Yeah, he does. Good for you, having enough confidence not to fall into the same screwed-up and antiquated thinking he does! |
