Why are all these retailer's calling me when I finally have a job? |
I just started working at dillard's and then all of a sudden these other retailer's want to start calling me like crazy, but today one urban clothing store called detour called I accepted the interview and I have no idea what to do, should I quit my other job if they offer more? it never hurts to go on interviews. in fact its good practice for you and develops a good life-skill. you don't have to accept a job -- its kind of fun turning people down when they offer you jobs -- its a shoe-on-the other foot kind of thing especially if you have been turned down by jobs before. the more offers you get the better you are getting at interviewing! chances are your benefits will be better with dillards than detour. many chains (like abercrombie) treat their employees very poorly -- you have to have a wardrobe of their clothes bought on your paycheck! you don't need an employer telling you how to spend your paycheck. Go for it. Dillards is a national chain, so they are used to it, and they are human. They will understand. I would definitely go for the better pay, especially if the urban store is locally owned and operated. Go where your gonna be smiling and happy..and speak at the interview..ask a few ?'s about the company and see if they will treat you well..then decide..they'll say that they decide but you can decide too.. the other retailers keep calling you because you probably went to more than one retailer that was looking to hire someone. Myself It really depends on distance to work and where you would rather work. Since you have been at Dillard's a very short time, you could conceivably just leave it off your resume in the future if you chose to leave. |
